This is the web site of the contemporary ceramic designer Brian
Adams. It gives example of his work and is a useful resource for those
who are interested in the integration of digital technologies and traditional
craft skills. Brian is a designer, maker and educator working in the
South West of the UK, he exploits digital technologies such as Rapid
Prototyping and CNC milling extensively in his work. Shapes are often
based on the repetition and the subtle complexity usually only found
in nature like the complex structure of a shell or the ripple on a pond.
He uses technology to make objects that while simple and familiar, are
usually impossible to create by conventional means. The aesthetic of
the work does not proclaim or celebrate its digital origins and yet
the objects are truly products of technology.
